    Calaveras y Calacas /Dia de los Muertos celebration

    6:00pm - 9:00pm

    Join the Casa de la Cultura and Consulmex Del Río for our Día de los Muertos celebration that will include dance,music, Catrinas, Calaveras readings, sugar skulls and so much more. Our First Friday Art Walk exhibit will feature touring photography exhibit “Dia de los Muertos en Mexico “ as well as an altar installation. Also will be having a Catrina/Catrin Contest! There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, so come out and show us your best Catrina/Catrin costumes! Free event, Detailed program to follow.

Diverse ways of working with plants (cosmetics, crafts, and plant-spirit communication) as well as other approaches to healing that can complement herbalism (nutrition, aromatherapy, and standard practice medicine). Our ultimate goal is to provide a well-rounded understanding of your backyard herbs and bring them back into the home and community where they have traditionally been used. This class takes place at our Monarch Waystation 300 & 302 Andrade Street ( two blocks away from the Casa de la Cultura)

    Mural Bike Tour

    The weather will be perfect as we enjoyed not just the nice ride but great company. We’ll make 14 spots at the local murals in the San Felipe, along our historian downtown and the San Felipe Creek. Meet up at 5:45ish at the Casa de la Cultura and we’ll hit the street at 6:00p.m and be back by 7:30p.m. B.Y.O.Bike "By the end of the mural bike ride you feel a sense of pride and enriched with history and culture of our community."

    The Insignificant Things (Las Cosas Insignificantes) is a parody of the Spanish Novelas that have been enjoyed by Latino households since the dawn of time. The variety of characters tells the tale of the Tres Leches family, who deal with a lot of drama, craziness and laughs but are just a family about love.
